Why is merino wool so highly valued and considered special?

Merino wool is highly valued because of its unique fiber structure. Unlike regular wool, merino wool fibers are much finer and more flexible, giving them a soft and luxurious feel that does not itch. Merino wool has an excellent crimp structure, allowing it to trap air and provide superior insulation while remaining lightweight. It is also naturally moisture-wicking, meaning it can absorb moisture from the body and release it into the air, keeping you dry and comfortable. Furthermore, merino wool is naturally elastic, allowing it to retain its shape even after repeated use. Its breathable properties make it ideal for both warm and cold climates, and its antibacterial qualities help to keep it fresh for longer periods, reducing the need for frequent washing.
